Extras health insurance is not really insurance because,
a. Annual limits, Combined limits and other rules apply.
b. Does not limit your out-of-pocket expense.
The simple premise of any insurance product is to
"Limit the liability of the bearer in exchange for a premium."
According to
AIHW 25.9% of all age groups who had insurance avoided dental care due to cost. Leading to disability.
" If you pay more into your extra cover policy, than you get out, then where is the value of extras insurance"
When you pay a premium and then have an unlimited GAP to pay, instead of the insurance company limiting your liablity. You not only dont have value, you have a bad value policy.
